ROOTED IN THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE? A Truth the Government Must Finally Define

ROOTED IN THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE?

A Truth the Government Must Finally Define

“Rooted in the will of the people.”

Politicians love to throw around that phrase like a sweet-smelling perfume meant to cover the stench of their inaction.

But when you look beyond the slogans, beyond the staged smiles, beyond the polished speeches… nothing happening in our nations today resembles anything rooted in the will of the people.

If anything, it looks like the government is rooted in the will of corporations, investors, shareholders, the elite circles, and the friends-of-friends networks that keep the political machine oiled, while the everyday people are left to suffocate under rising costs, stagnation, decaying services, and crisis after crisis with no relief in sight.

So let’s be honest:

Before politicians use that phrase again, they need to define it, because the people surely are not seeing or feeling their “will” reflected anywhere.

WHEN DOES THE GOVERNMENT REMEMBER THE PEOPLE?

Only at VOTING TIME

For years, decades even, the pattern remains the same:

Silent while in office

Invisible during a crisis

Mute when people are suffering.

Unavailable when citizens need accountability

Avoiding responsibility for the portfolios they begged to manage.

But let the election season come?

Suddenly, every politician finds their voice, their feet, their “concern,” their energy, their promises, their empathy, and their ability to show up in the very communities they abandoned the moment they won.

All of a sudden,

The neglected schools become a priority.

The long-ignored roads become an emergency.

The rising cost of living becomes “concerning.”

The cries of the people become “valid.”

The crisis that they turned a blind eye to becomes a campaign tool.

They wait until the house is burning down to finally show up with a bucket, not to put out the fire, but to bargain with the flames for votes.

CRISIS AS A BARGAINING CHIP — THE LOWEST FORM OF LEADERSHIP

This is political manipulation, not leadership.

This is strategic bribery, not governance.

This is corruption, not service.

When a government ignores a problem for years,

then suddenly pretends to care one month before elections,

That is not incompetence, that is deliberate neglect used as a form of leverage.

They let the people cry long enough to become desperate,

then swoop in with promises to “fix it” in exchange for a vote.

That is not democracy.

That is extortion disguised as politics.

The will of the people does not matter.

The suffering of the people does not matter.

The only will that seems to matter is the will to stay in power,

and the will to serve those with money, influence, and connections.

And a government that operates this way is not simply misguided, It is corrupt.

THIS KIND OF GOVERNMENT MUST END

A government that:

shows up only during election time,

silences itself during real crises,

uses the people’s pain as campaign fuel,

serves corporations over citizens,

prioritizes investors over families,

and pretends to represent the “will of the people” while ignoring them.

It is a government that has lost its legitimacy.

Real leadership requires courage, consistency, and accountability.

Not hiding for four years and resurfacing with a smile and a promise.

Not bartering the people’s suffering for votes.

Not running a nation like a private business controlled by elites.

The people deserve:

leaders who show up every day, not every election cycle.

leaders who are accountable, not performative.

leaders who prioritize human needs, not corporate desires.

leaders who represent the public, not the powerful.

Until then, the phrase “rooted in the will of the people” is nothing more than a political costume, pretty enough to fool the crowd, but empty enough to betray them.

And the people are waking up.

The illusion is cracking.

The truth is rising.

This type of government must come to an end, because a nation cannot be built on the will of the people, until the government itself finally chooses to serve them.

They are in office all that time and only see a nation that's damage and a people in crisis when voting time is near, so what happened to the days, weeks, months, years, that the government is in office, don't they see the damage of a nation, the pleas of the people etc, why does government have to wait until voting time just to try and use the crisis etc as a bargain chip to get votes?
