On Rocky Ground

Barbados is considered the wealthiest and one of the most developed countries in the Eastern Caribbean, but with the prestige of wealth, the people of the nation continue to suffer.

Pushing the cart before the horse can cause much confusion for others don't you think?

Being the wealthiest island does not matter if it is being opened up to the preditors of corruption, money laundering, etc.

We all know and have seen what is happening in some islands, as some high-racking and other individuals see the islands as a place where they could get away with almost anything including their devious playgrounds.

Development does not always help a nation when the people remain in the same bad situations, it's just a false shell to entice investors, and people in.

Prestige does not help a nation when the people cannot afford to live and maintain themselves.

Barbados and Barbadians need to see some in-house investments that could help sustain a people as a whole, wind energy is free, solar energy is free, water ocean channels are free, desalination plants are being used more and more in nations around the world, why can't Barbados do the same?

Barbados government has not utilized these areas for good and efficient growth and accommodates, that would help the people?

After all these years of one government after another, of wasting money on useless projects, businesses, investments, investors, and building big elaborate buildings that do not continue to have good functioning.

The government does not seem to have a tight hold on any of the projects and investments, as most of them have been sold to the highest bidder, failed, and left standing dormant without inhabitants and usage.

What does Barbados own within itself? what does it have that carries its name, a business, etc with high revenue that is stated as belonging to Barbados, a source that can help Barbados and Barbadians to truly grow?

Instead of outside foreign investors that pollute the lands, mismanage the employees and can pack up and go at any time without a trace?

What can Barbadians own, when investors continue to come and take away their birthrights, the land on which they were born upon?

Barbadians should have free solar and wind energy attached to their homes, the lands can be worked for agricultural benefits to help Barbadians sustain themselves.

Barbadians should also have the first choice to the lands of their birthrights, instead of it being taken away and sold to the highest foreign bidder.

Barbadians need to stop looking for men and women that sit in governments' positions to help them when the Truth of the matter is that those same leaders are just all about helping themselves and friends of friends of friends.

For outsiders, the status of the wealthiest and prestigious Caribbean island could only go thus far, as what they are seeing and hearing from the outside is by far what it truly is.

By now others should see that the wealth is not wealth at all, as the constant borrowing from IMF has the nation in deeper debt, and the prestige is as far as some may want it to go and these days it just does not matter because some Barbadian are going through the same issues of trying to keep their heads above water.

The covid19 issues did not bring any better form, as some governments are using it to try to control, manipulate and silence the people and take what is rightfully theirs and that is their willpower to decide for themselves.

Governments that were chosen by the people, that then changed into dictatorship leaders should not be a part of the governing systems, as all they are focused on is themselves, the need to control, command, and demand, and they never see eye to eye with the people. Nation of people does not need more Hitlers in their mix.

That just want the governing and leadership to be, always a one man or one woman show.
